After two weeks of safe, family friendly bands rockin out around Whistler it was great to have Mike from CIA Productions bring in Cancerbats, 3 Inches of Blood and Against Me to tear the roof off of Garfinkels last week. This show just about killed me, and probably a few others, as it has taken me a week to get over the abuse I inflicted on myself.
Playing to a packed house, Cancerbats was "the" band to catch that night, (too many Jagers and Pilsners to remember the others, or leaving) they hit the stage running on all cylinders.
Promoting the new album Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones due out April 13th, Cancerbats really got everyone going with Sabotage, a heavy as hell version of the Beastie Boys classic. Playing for about an hour it was one hell of a show, and one I think they probably could have headlined.
Having had a few too many after their set I can't really remember much about 3 Inches or Against Me, but from what everyone says, we all had a great time.
