New Caffeine Flash

I have been tooling around for a while now with different kind of flash diffusers to use and nothing is really to my liking out there. Plus living in Whistler you have to order stuff through the camera store, which I don't like to do cause you never know if it is what you really need as opposed to what you just think you need. So you can allways go to Vancouver and hit up the camera stores but that just adds at least another $40 to the end price plus your time, and dealing with a lot of citiots sooooo, I decided to just make one.

I drink a lot of coffee and have quite a few coffee containers kicking around collecting change, pens and dust. So why not do something useful with them. This lil guy I call Max, and it took me about five minutes to make plus it kicks serious ass.

First things first I cleaned it all sweet like, getting all the coffee grinds out of him and then traced the top of my flash onto the plastic lid, then I cut it out with a rusty piece of crap knife and voila, it fit like a glove.
Then I can opened the bottom, grabbed a couple of #4 coffee filters, placed them over the opening, attaching them with a smooth gripping elastic band. Welcome Max!
Wanting to see right away how it worked, I used myself as the test subject sitting in my lil chair at my computer with the window to my back and a purple sheet/drape, held my 40D in one hand and my flash in the other I snapped two pics.
The first one I call Magenta Rain, my friend thinks it is more Magnum but that one belongs to Zoolander. The second is a look I am still trying to perfect so it doesn't have a name yet. One day it will be ready but not today.
My next project is going to involve a cooler, I saw a picture of one today, and thought it was a wicked idea, just needs to be modified a lil to make it my own.
Just so you know, Max has a patent pending so don't get any ideas of making one yourself, unless it is Folgers or Tim Hortons.
